Meadow View Pet Parade to benefit animal organizations

Pets of all shapes and sizes are invited to strut their stuff and raise money for animal-related causes during a parade around Meadow View Elementary School.

The school's fifth annual pet parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Meadow View is located at 2501 Mirage Avenue, Plainfield.

All animals must be register before they can participate. The cost of registration is $5 per animal. Please contact Meadow View teacher Jennifer Soboj via e-mail at jsoboj@psd202.org for a registration form.

Prizes will be awarded for the biggest, smallest, cutest, homeliest, most loveable, smartest and creepiest pets.

Both human and animal participants can visit various booths to learn about proper pet care and grooming. Some animals will also be available for adoption.

All monies raised at the event will be donated to several local animal organizations, including the Will County Humane Society, the Chicago English Bulldog Rescue, Collie Rescue of Greater Illinois and COPE Animal Rescue.
