District 202 H.S. students selected to SWPC Honor Bands
One hundred and seventy students from eight local high schools converged at Plainfield High School-Central Campus (PHSCC) for the Southwest Prairie Conference Band Festival on Tuesday, February 19, 2008.
The students, from Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield North, Plainfield South, Oswego, Oswego East, Morris, Minooka, and Romeoville high schools rehearsed throughout the day at PHSCC.
Each high school band director nominated and selected students from their school to play in an honor band comprising freshmen and sophomores or an honor band of juniors and seniors.
After a day of rehearsal, the selected students presented a concert at 7 p.m. in the PHSCC auditorium. Guest conductors Dr. Stephen K. Steel, director of bands at Illinois State University, and Dr. Thomas Bough, director of athletic bands at Northern Illinois University led the students.
Here are the District 202 students who were chosen to participate in the 2008 Southwest Prairie Conference Honor Bands:
PHSCC Junior/Senior Honor Band: seniors Joey Fontanetta, Lisa Melbourn, Amrita Raghuraman and Quinn McGee, and juniors Matthew Berg, Bryan Sheard, Kelsey Bosch, Adriano Vazquez, Hannah Johnson, Samantha Henrickson and Aaron White.
PHSCC Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band: sophomores Bileshia Sproling, Kirsten Johnson, Trevor Larson, Ryan Linwood, Zachary Herr and Juan Gonzalez, and freshmen Isabel Gloria, Stacey Johnson, Veronica Gloria, Nathan Tammeling, Megan Payne and Alex Johnson.
Plainfield North High School Junior/Senior Honor Band: seniors Rachel Marsiglio, Jeff Block, Mike Eggerstedt and Jennifer Piemonte, and juniors Christopher Rishel, Dan Marsiglio, Chelsea Lewis, Kyle Markwell, Christopher Riemer and Adam Krause.
Plainfield North High School Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band: sophomore Allison Smith and freshmen Matthew Miller, Andrew Smelser, Ryan Reichert, Ashlyn Gathman, Mike Osterman, Jason Driscoll and Tyler Buss.
Plainfield South High School Junior/Senior Honor Band: seniors Dave Garon, Lauren Shafer, Macey Pruett, Brian Richard, Jason Huber, Emily Tarlini and Amber Montgomery, and juniors Jarrod Simington and Gabrielle Eischen.
Plainfield South High School Freshman/Sophomore Honor Band: sophomores Brittany Turner, Danielle Berger, Cera Lazarz, Caleb Goldenstein and Zach Simmering, and freshmen Kris Leal, Miranda Mayer, Allison Giancarlo and Aileen Hamilton.
