Charles Reed students discover outer space with Space Fair

Charles Reed Elementary School third grade students will put their knowledge about space on display at the school's upcoming annual Space Fair.

Family members will visit their child's classroom Space Fair from 2-3 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008, at the school, 2110 Clublands Parkway, Plainfield.

Students from all five third grade classes will pick a topic, conduct research and explain what they learned through models, posters, games, Power Point presentations, books or skits, and come up with 10 questions about their topic. The students will create their projects entirely at school.

Students will present their projects to the group for the first 45 minutes. Then, families will be able to see the projects in their student's classroom for the last 15 minutes.

"With all of the work being done in class, it's clear the students are doing the work on their own," third grade teacher Kerri Konie said.

"It shows their creativity and ability to find information using the various resources in the classroom library, in our Media Center and from school approved sites on the Internet," she said.
