PEHS associate principal is new D202 Director of High School Curriculum and Instruction

PLAINFIELD - Plainfield East High School Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction will be the next District 202 Director of High School Curriculum and Instruction.

The District 202 Board of Education approved the new assignment at its April 24, 2023, regular meeting. She begins on July 1, 2023.

Morris holds two master's degrees one in English and the other in Educational Administration. She plans to complete her doctorate by December.

She is finishing her 19th year in District 202, where she started as an English teacher at Plainfield High School-Central Campus in 2004.

Morris moved to PEHS when it opened in 2008. She served as a teacher and division chairperson before moving into her current role five years ago.

She is excited to serve District 202 in this new role and is grateful for the opportunity, Morris said.

“District 202 has strong traditions and I look forward to working alongside the current administration to continue our traditions and honor our vision to best serve and empower all our learners,” she said.

Members of the hiring committee said Morris is approachable, a quick learner, a great team player and truly cares about the students and staff.

“Ms. Morris has knowledge beyond what we currently do and will bring some incredibly creative ideas for change and improvement,” said Dr. Paula Sereleas, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction.
